Colombian Lulada (Lulo Fruit Drink)

A Lulada is a refreshing drink starring lulo (also called naranjilla), which is a Latin-American tropical fruit with a citrus flavor.

Equipment

  • blender/ food processor

Ingredients
  

  • 3 lulos
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp white sugar (or more to taste)
  • juice of 1/2 lime

Instructions
 

  • Cut lulos
    Cut lulos in half and then in quarters. Peel the skin off using a knife, or scoop out the flesh using a spoon. Cut the fruit into small cubes. If there are particularly hard white bits, leave them out
  • Blend
    Place 2/3 of the lulo in the food processor, together with the cup of water, sugar, and lime. Mix into a juice
  • Taste and serve
    Taste and add more sugar if desired. Pour into a glass with ice. Add the leftover lulo cubes and stir.
    Enjoy while cold!
