Ají de Lulo is a Colombian hot sauce made with spicy peppers and lulo fruit. It is spicy, sweet-sour and tropical, and makes a delicious addition to empanadas, soups or other main courses.
1spicy/chili pepper of your choice, chopped finelyleave the seeds out when using a very spicy pepper
2tbspsweet yellow pepper, chopped finely
brown sugar or panelato taste, about a teaspoon
lime juice, to taste
finely chopped green onion, to taste
chopped cilantro, to taste
Instructions
Mix all ingredients together in a mixing bowl. Taste and adjust amounts of sugar, lime juice, cilantro, onion and salt accordingly. Leave the ají for 15-30 minutes for the flavors to mix well.Serve in a small serving bowl at the table, with for example empanadas, soups, arepas, or other warm dishes.
